I wanted to share an incident that happened last week. We went to the WaterPark at Six Flags last
Wednesday, and I had a miscommunication with a Mom- I asked her to watch my kids while I went on a ride

The goal of our Children's Kung Fu program is to provide our
safe, and nurturing environment.
Shaolin Kung Fu of Amherst offers two classes for children:
Junior Shaolin Kung Fu- ages 7-12
Little Dragons - ages 4-6.

- No prior martial arts experience is required
- All classes are open enrollment, so your child can
start ANYTIME. - Classes run YEAR ROUND!
Classes balance fun and excitement with structure and self control. Many
such as the tiger, eagle, crane, dragon, and praying mantis just to name a
few.
Our program incorporates these traditional animal kung fu elements with
practical skills that can be brought to daily life.

For 30 minutes, no one knew they were watching Alexis. When I found her (she had only been on her
own for 5 minutes because she actually followed instructions to go back to our towels and she quickly
found Melissa, our eldest, age 12, and went off on another ride. I asked Alexis if she was scared. She
said, "No I was fine. I knew no one would hurt me because I know Kung Fu!". The place was mobbed!
She has been separated in crowded places before and it usually panics her, so this is the first time in a
while and she had such inner confidence. I can't even tell you how proud/relieved I was to know she has
internalized that she has new skills to keep herself safe, mentally and physically. It is all a mother could
ask for and I just wanted you guys to know that you are changing these kids' lives in profound ways- you
may not always know it or see it, but I do and am incredibly grateful for that lifelong gift!!
